LUNA-FSS offers ESCALERASⓒ, which means "ladders" in Spanish and serves as a metaphor for the “little ladders” that help level the playing field for limited-English communities that are often overlooked and underserved.

ESCALERASⓒ, is an award-winning model that supports these communities in becoming licensed Family Child Care Providers, setting them on a professional path to improve the quality of care they provide and enhance the sustainability of their work, and expanding the availability of care in areas considered “child care deserts” It also provides FFN who are license-exempt the opportunity to receive CCDF mandated training.

ESCALERASⓒ is an off-the shelf, scalable, replicable, human-centered, innovative and proven training model and can save communities significant resources, time and effort.

ESCALERASⓒ is mobile based and leverages ubiquitous technology to close equity access and digital literacy gaps.

ESCALERASⓒ is hosted in our own LMS CAMPUS LUNA where ECE educators can find scaffolded on-going professional development in key competencies, and continue climbing their professional development “escalera”.

ESCALERASⓒ is offered in synergistic partnership with a local community ally that is familiar with local training and licensing requirements and standards. Hand-in-hand with strategic partners, LUNA-SS examines local structural, policy and language access hurdles that impact New American communities in their ability to become licensed.

LUNA Latinas Unidas, is a strategic alliance of early childhood professionals whose goal is to support Latina educators in this profession through training, research, and empowerment.
